PguEducation with TFT display is a further development of our previous training potentiostat for people who want to discover the world of electrochemical measurements and gain initial experience in this field.
Even advanced users can carry out experiments and measurements with this compact device.
When the PguEducation is connected to a computer running our EcmWin software, it behaves like a normal potentiostat. OCP, hold test, scan, and pulse measurements are supported. EIS or ECN cannot be performed with this device. The integrated screen displays the current measurement range and the measured values for current and voltage.
Realistic measurements can be performed at a maximum current of 50mA. In cases where a higher current is required, you can also reduce the sample size to stay within the possible current range. With 6 ranges, the lowest current range is 1 µA. With a resolution of 24 bits, the PguEducation is a professional device
With a compliance voltage of +- 10V and a polarization range of +-5V, the device is ideal for teaching, training, and simple research tasks. In addition, it has full functionality for learning about the specifics of electrochemical measurements.
In many cases, it is very informative to measure the resting potential of a system or even just to measure two reference electrodes against each other. This can be done with the PguEducation without having to connect a computer. After connecting the electrodes, the display shows the desired value. The resting potential measurement is thus performed via a high-impedance system. In principle, this measurement setup can be left in place for any length of time.
Note: Such measurements should not be performed with a simple multimeter. The measuring current caused by the low internal resistance of the multimeter polarizes the reference electrode and thus causes a shift in the reference potential.
